Years 5-8 Competition Round Draw

Northern Suburbs Netball releases the weekend draw each Wednesday. Northern Suburbs Netball utilises both Newlands Intermediate and Newlands College Netball courts for its Saturday Netball Competition, with the majority of the games being played at the College. The fixtures will indicate on which court teams will be playing.

Locations

Game Format

Years 1 & 2 participate in Mother Earth futureFERNS programme. They have a 25 minute skill season, followed by a 2 x 10 min game, with a 3 minute half time break. They play on Sunday afternoon during term 3 at Queen Margaret College.

Years 3 & 4 participate in Mother Earth futureFERNS programme. They have a 25 minute skill season, followed by a 2 x 10 min game, with a 3 minute half time break. They play at the same time every week for 9 weeks. On the 10th week of the programme they have a mini tournament. All games are played at Newlands College on Saturday afternoon. 

Years 5 & 6 play Mother Earth futureFERNS 6 a side netball. Games have 4 x 8 minute quarters with a 1 minute interval at 1/4 time and 3/4 time, and 2 minutes at 1/2 time.

Year 7 & 8 games have 4 x 10 minute quarters. There will be a 1 mintue interval at 1/4 time and 3/4 quarter time and 3 minutes at 1/2 time.

The timekeeper will sound the bell to signal to the umpires the start and end of each game quarter. The umpire will blow his/her whistle to start and stop each quarter.

Injuries and Assistance

For all injuries come over to where the timekeeper stands at the courts, Northern Suburbs has qualified first aid staff available.
Require assistance? Northern Suburbs have committee members floating around, check the notice board at the courts for information on who to contact. These members are more than willing to help you.

Please use the form below to record all serious injuries. Ensure that a copy is given to the court controllers. If needed, copies are held by the court controllers.
